Maine goes Obama

Wednesday, November 5 at 5:00 am

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) – Democrat Barack Obama has won in Maine, turning back Republican John McCain's efforts to take at least one of the state's four electoral votes.

Obama's win in Maine was based on an analysis of voter interviews, conducted for The Associated Press by Edison Media Research and Mitofsky International.

Tracy Audet, 44, of Auburn said she voted for Obama Tuesday.
“I have been against the war," Audet said. "I am a strong supporter of bringing (the troops) back home and really change where we’ve been going with the government and all of the challenges we have around heating — fuel, our dependence on foreign oil, all of that. I think he is the person that can really make those changes.”

Maine is one of two states that split electoral votes. That meant McCain could've won one electoral vote if he pulled out a victory in the 2nd District, a rural district that is thought to be more conservative.
McCain advertised heavily in the 2nd District and sent his running mate, Sarah Palin, and her husband to northern Maine in hopes of swaying voters.

It's sad to see that nothing has changed in the People's Republic of Maine. The welfare state will remain just that. For those of you that are conservative, you will soon be rounded up for re-education camps and if they can't do that then elimination will be your fate...
